We’re excited to share with you that a new version of the Seventh-day Adventist Accounting Manual has been released. As part of the update, the Seventh-day Adventist Financial Reporting Framework Committee has agreed to move to a three-volume set:
- Financial Management in SDA Church Organizations: A Guide for Governing Boards and Executives
- Financial Management in SDA Church Organizations: A Guide for Financial Professionals
- Financial Management in SDA Church Organizations: A Resource Toolkit
The current release is Volume 2 for financial professionals. It also has been updated to match changes in the latest General Conference Working Policy and international accounting standards. Although local divisions and territories will be translating this volume as needed, it has been updated to an easy reading level to make it more accessible for readers who may be less proficient in English
A significant portion of Volume 3, a resource toolkit, has already been completed and will be released soon. The release of Volume 1, for governing boards and executives, will complete the set.
Quoting the Forward from Volume 2: “The primary purposes of these volumes are to provide a standardized system of accounting and financial reporting in compliance with internationally accepted accounting principles for the global church and assist denominational accountants and treasurers to prepare financial statements that will provide meaningful information to church administrators, committees and constituencies.”
“This volume supersedes all previous denominational accounting manuals and has been approved by the General Conference and Division Treasurers. It shall be adhered to by all denominational entities.”
